BRINGING BACK THE SUNSHINE Tracklist:
I was searching for south of heaven from Slayer, but found this bullcrap instead. I wish you inbred country musicians would stop ripping off metal albums and think of your own ideas. It was little big town stealing Judas Priest's painkiller, and now this. You make me sick. I hope you get $ood!
blake love all the songs and you have such great tone of voice. i was not country but since i watch the voice and hear your music man i am into country because of you .love you as and artist and you are a great guy and cahrming too. good luck but with haters like you have it just makes you stronger and happy dont let them bring you light out.
God knows that Blake had been stuck where the sun don't shine for too many years. He has said goodbye to the black hole and has Joy in his voice again. Listen to these songs again like he is singing to or with Gwen. Like her or not, she has been the best thing for Blake AND Oklahoma. Ashley Monroe, you've made John Danks a happy man. You've straightened out his manhood, now let's work on his pitching, please.
Ok, so at over a year since its release, I think I've gotten a good feel for this album. I originally reviewed it in 8/14, and called it "Just a bunch of filler", but looking back, it really depends upon the songs. Blake's known for his contemporary country, just like Brad Paisley, and I have to take that into consideration. With that being said, was anything here worth salvaging? My answer? Yes. See my 'Best Songs' below for them. Overall: 7/10 Best Songs: "Sangria", "Neon Light", and "Gonna". Worst: Not really any stand outs but I'll say "Lonely Tonight" because Monroe sounds out of place.
Never disappoints! Blake speaks to my heart & soul...Life, L<3VE, Happiness is what most seek & when I listen to his lyrics, I'm brought to a place that I wish I could never leave. Thank You, Blake Shelton for bringing me home! XO
Another really great album! I don't know if I like Based On A True Story or this album better. Both have great songs with lots of heart and meaning behind them! Favorite songs off this album are bringing back the sunshine, gonna, I need my girl
Well , 1st I'm not a country music fan so to speak , old school punk etc , I got this for free on iTunes so I listened , and a couple songs really got to me , Neon light , Sangria , I really like his voice , so I will say that besides being a hunk he is very talented
I love Blake I love neon light and all of his other songs... But rly?! I hate sangria. (So my brother sings it constantly) I just don't understand how a good artist can make a song so catchy that I hate?! Sry Blake I just don't like sangria.
Based On a true story album was his best album. This comes far from close to based on a true story album. Neon light was ok. Sangria is terrible, hate it. It's overrated. No were near as good as Boyz Round Here or Sure be cool if you did.
How many times do you have to say "Lips just like Sangria" to get you get a song? Country music is not at a good state with all the repetition and Oooh's and Ahhhh's and La La La's just to make a song...
The music is crap, sounds just like all the other crap song and music coming out of Nashville. The only good music coming out of there is George Strait, Alan Jackson, and the older artist. Why because they won't change and it's real country music. Black Shelton use to be in that mix until he sold out and start pumping out crap. Just because you put country terms and words in a song doesn't make it country! Don't think I'll ever buy his or his butt buddy Luke Bryant music again.
Although this isn't as country as I like this album is still MUCH more country than over 90% of the crap people call country music these days. Blake is one of the few artist that still write actual songs along with artists like Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, George Strait, etc…
