Live In Buenos Aires Tracklist:
Love Coldplay, they’re my favorite band, this audio recording/mixing on this live album is not good. Just hard to to listen to. Especially “A Head Full of Dreams”. Just sounds muffled and really base heavy.
I like Coldplay. I like their songs. The live release is nothing special, espcially given that we already hsve Coldplay 2012, which had a similar setlist. You get technically perfect renditions of the songs we love (which we already have). Little improvisation. What would have made this special to me was either heavy improv, live collaborations, video (fortunatley they released a DVD too)), or going super heavy on the new material ('Fun', 'Army of 1'). For good live releases, I'd point to Dave Matthews' Central Park live album (the improv-heavy collsborationw with Warren Haynes), John Mayer's 'Where The Light Is' (again, improv). Read the other reviews. "I love Coldplay". They say little about what distinguishes this performance from any other Coldplay performance. I wanted to love this but I'll stick with the studio versions. Sorry.
I have always been a huge Coldplay fan since I was a child. From the very first time I heard "Speed of Sound" and "Fix You" in the car, to when I heard other materpieces of songs such as "Viva La Vida," "Paradise," "Clocks," "Charlie Brown," and SO many others, I have always had a deep connection with Chris Martin and the band. Their music has brought so much meaning into my life and Martin's lyrics are so raw, deep, and unusual in the best possible way. Everytime I listen, I get taken away to a special place. Sometimes it's a past memory, and other times it's a fictional location. This live album from Buenos Aires is an exact testiment to that indeed. Although I have only listened to it partially, I am so excited to hear to the whole thing. It sounds incredible and I am imagining myself in that audience both laughing and crying simultaneously. Someday I will see this band live but I am more than okay with this being as close as I'll get right now. Coldplay, thank you so much for this live album, and all you do not just for me, but for the world. Love you guys!!!!
The only problem is how they mix the opening track “A Head Full of Dreams” to where they have the beginning of “Yellow” play at the end of the track. Other than that the album sounds really good and I’m excited that they are finally releasing the entire set.
I have been to their Salt Lake City concert in 2016, as well as their Portland concert in 2017, but their 2017 part of the tour smashed through, and made masterpiece performances like these.
Having been to the show two times. I can say, without a doubt, they are best performance you can see live. Iv been waiting for this album for over a year and I can’t wait to hear it again. I hope this isn’t the end for the band. But if it is, what a way to go out!
